Cotswold lamb locks, washed. 4 ounces.
4 ounces of locks washed in my smoke-free home.
The washing is done with the perspective of easy preparation for a handspinner.
Locks are distinct and easy to open up.
The staple is of medium length. The fibre is in the softer range.
It was purchased from LeahMar Farm in Ontario.
The tips are a little 'crunchy'. This will go away quickly as you prepare the fibre.
Easy to card or comb, spin as you wish.
Process prior to sale:
This product was obtained as an unwashed fleece. I paid the farmer $20 per pound of wool + shipping.
The fleece was then skirted, and locks were individually selected and put into a bag.
By loads of 2 pounds, wool was washed. 6 scouring baths at 57 degrees celsius were done. I didn't wash at too hot of a temperature so as not to dry the long wool and lose its luster.
After drying, the weight loss calculated is around 25%.
